ZitatAlles anzeigenNow the GOOD news. I discovered that someone else is also working on this project (and has much better coding skills then myself), but from a totally different angle and using Linux instead of Android. He is a few steps ahead of me in some way, for example he did reverse engineer the whole BT handshake protocol and ha can initiate AA from the slave device, without the need of anything on the master (master needs to be Pie and above), but he is lacking some experience and knowledge which I posses.
We had a discussion and we decided that we are going to join the forces to make this into a product (physical one) and take this project to kickstarter, we will be working on 2 different angels for time being (Linux and Android) to come up with a prototype hardware, then assuming the kickstart project can hit it's target we will do deeper testing on which way to go down, Linux or Android (which can work universally, or maybe we will need to end up with 2 products based on the car/headunit as not all behaves the same).
We also decided that after the kicstarter project whatever we manage to hit the goal and turn it into a success or fail to do so, we will both open the apps and have them open sourced.
While this might not be something tangible today, the status of the development on both Linux and Android suggest that prototypes for both Linux and Android as well as the kickstart project should be available in 1-2 month. Timeline from there it's difficult to predict because neither myself, neither him have ever done a kickstart project so we are not sure at how that all will work out.
